The dramatic art contributes to the learning of the English language, in that the articulation of
words develops a better pronunciation in the students through reading exercises, and the
correction work on the part of the teacher. Meanwhile, facial gestures and body training make
expression possible when communicating from verbal and non-verbal language, providing a
better fluency in oral production, and avoiding the inhibition on the part of the participants.
Therefore, the present investigation was aimed at to implement the dramatic art for the learning
of the English language, through the development of pedagogical activities that improve the
educational processes in the Fernando Foegen Educational Institution of the City of Cartagena.
The study not only seeks through drama the motivation for learning of 6th grade students of the
mentioned Educational Institution, but also that the student of the aforementioned degree who is
characterized by refraining from participating in the stipulated activities by the area teacher,
encourage them to participate actively to improve their learning process, and, in effect, to build
together with the teacher an environment in the classroom mediated by didactics, cooperative
work, enthusiasm for the foreign language and some optimal interpersonal relationships between
teachers and students.
The results of the present study were carried out thanks to the application of the following data
collection techniques: the application of a semi-structured interview that allowed to know the
causes of students' disinterest in learning the English language, and observation of the
pedagogical practice that made it possible to realize the participation of the learners and the
emerging emotions that these manifested during the activities. Finally, an evaluation was made
to the student body to verify that they had learned so much during the dramatizations, and, this
evaluation, denoted a significant experience for the positive results that are circumscribed in the
final section of the present study
