    This research report shows in a detailed manner biographical, social and economic characteristics of the students of the Social Work, Psychology and Sports Science and Physical Activity programs of the second period of 2016 of the CECAR Caribbean University Corporation. The sociodemographic and economic characterization is a mixed approach with prioritization of variables of quantitative data, with the application of the semi-structured interview it was possible to know what characteristics the students of the aforementioned programs present and also what services or benefits offered by the welfare dependency university are of the highest priority for students. With the information obtained through the interviews it was possible to visualize that the population with which they worked needed more support for their professional development in variables such as: Credits, Loans, Scholarships or discounts in terms of the value of tuition and food during their stay in the university because they are the most significant expenses of the students during their professional process, taking into account that this population is of low economic resources located in strata 1 and 2 in its majority.
