Representaciones sociales de la maternidad en mujeres lesbianas del municipio de Morroa, Colombia

Abstract

El objetivo de este estudio fue describir la representación social de la maternidad en mujeres lesbianas del Municipio de Morroa- Sucre, Colombia. La metodología utilizada para este estudio se enmarcó en el paradigma interpretativo, de enfoque cualitativo, con tipo de investigación descriptiva de diseño fenomenológico. Como muestra del estudio participaron 10 madres lesbianas. La técnica para recolección de la información fue la entrevista semiestructurada, la cual permite la inclusión de preguntas adicionales para precisar conceptos u obtener mayor información de las entrevistadas. Para el análisis de datos, se codificó y categorizó la información obtenida, por medio del criterio deductivo-inductivo, con el apoyo de análisis de datos cualitativos Atlas.ti. Con respecto a los resultados se observó que el concepto de maternidad fue representado como una experiencia gratificante, en la cual se brinda afecto y cuidados a los hijos, igualmente caracterizado por vínculos profundos. Asimismo, con referente a la actitud hacia la maternidad se caracterizó por comportamientos como la de formar en valores, principios y mantener buenas relaciones afectivas. En el campo de las creencias hacia la maternidad se denotó que las participantes asumen como principio ideológico inculcar valores y enseñar buenas prácticas en el hogar; en este mismo sentido, en lo que corresponde a la interpretación hacia la maternidad, las madres se identificaron con ser orientadoras, y que la figura materna no debe admitir calificativos. Se concluye que las madres lesbianas perciben un rechazo social y recriminación por parte de la comunidad hacia las ellas y sus hijos, esto a causa de la intolerancia en la sociedad; en cuanto a la ausencia paternal que experimentan los hijos de estas mujeres se identificó la falta de apoyo y por ende las madres realizan doble rol.

The objective of this study was to describe the social representation of motherhood in lesbian women of the Municipality of Morroa-Sucre, Colombia. The methodology used for this study was framed in the interpretative paradigm, with a qualitative approach, with a type of descriptive research of phenomenological design. As a sample of the study, 10 lesbian mothers participated. The information gathering technique was the semi-structured interview, which allows the inclusion of additional questions to specify concepts or obtain more information from the interviewees. For the data analysis, the information obtained was codified and categorized, through the inductivedeductive criteria, with the support of qualitative data analysis Atlas.ti. Regarding the results, it was observed that the concept of motherhood was represented as a rewarding experience, in which affection and care is provided to the children, also characterized by deep ties. Likewise, with regard to the attitude towards motherhood, it was characterized by behaviors such as training in values, principles and maintaining good emotional relationships. In the field of beliefs towards motherhood it was noted that the participants assume as an ideological principle to instill values and teach good practices in the home; in this same sense, in what corresponds to the interpretation towards motherhood, the mothers identified themselves as guiding, and that the mother figure should not admit qualifiers. It is concluded that lesbian mothers perceive social rejection and recrimination by the community towards them and their children, this because of intolerance in society; Regarding the paternal absence experienced by the children of these women, the lack of support was identified and therefore the mothers perform double role.
