DINÁMICA ORGANIZACIONAL DE LOS ESTABLECIMIENTOS DE ALOJAMIENTO Y HOSPEDAJE. CASO DE SANTIAGO DE TOLÚ, SUCRE- COLOMBIA

Abstract

Los prestadores turísticos juegan un papel preponderante en el marco de la competitividad y la consolidación de un destino, teniendo en cuenta que, sobre ellos recae la interacción turista–destino y además, captan el flujo económico generado a partir de las actividades relacionadas con el turismo. De acuerdo con lo anterior, no es suficiente afirmar que un destino turístico sea rico en recursos naturales y que tengan belleza innata, se hace necesario contar con una infraestructura turística capaz de atender los gustos y las preferencias de los turistas y visitantes. Sin embargo, la gestión interna u organizacional de los prestadores incide, en gran medida, en la experiencia y la percepción que puede crearse un turista-visitante. El presente capítulo, tiene como propósito analizar la gestión integral de los hoteles que prestan sus servicios en el municipio de Santiago de Tolú, situado en el Departamento de Sucre, Colombia; la realización del estudio requirió el análisis de las variables del entorno en la industria hotelera, así como la aplicación de una encuesta estructurada, a fin de estudiar más a fondo los aspectos claves de la gestión. A grandes rasgos, los resultados dan cuenta que la gestión se ha cimentado en una estructura familiar con tintes transgeneracionales, lo que ha dificultado la implementación de nuevas prácticas administrativas. De igual forma, hay aspectos claves que, en el marco de la gestión, los gerentes y directivos han pasado por alto, como tener un plan de negocio. Es importante estimular y expandir, entre los empresarios, la implementación de prácticas administrativas, más aún cuando se habla de un prestador turístico importante en número y relevancia para las actividades turísticas en la región.

Tourist providers play a preponderant role in the framework of competitiveness and the consolidation of a destination, bearing in mind that they are responsible for the interaction between tourists and destinations and they also capture the economic flow generated from tourism-related activities. According to the above, it is not enough to state that a tourist destination is rich in natural resources and that they have innate beauty, it is necessary to have a tourist infrastructure capable of meeting the tastes and preferences of tourists and visitors. However, the internal or organizational management of the providers influences, to a great extent, the experience and perception that can be created by a tourist visitor. The purpose of this chapter is to analyze the integral management of the hotels that provide services in the municipality of Santiago de Tolú, located in the Department of Sucre, Colombia; the conduct of the study required the analysis of environmental variables in the hotel industry, as well as the application of a structured survey, in order to further study the key aspects of management. Broadly speaking, the results show that management has been based on a family structure with transgenerational dyes, which has made it difficult to implement new administrative practices. Similarly, there are key aspects that, in the management framework, managers and executives have overlooked, such as having a business plan. It is important to stimulate and expand, among entrepreneurs, the implementation of administrative practices, even more so when talking about a tourism provider important in number and relevance to tourism activities in the region.
