Abstract

La manera en que el arquitecto entiende su papel en la sociedad ha evolucionado a lo largo de la historia. Este artículo examina diferentes disposiciones del arquitecto ante el proyecto de arquitectura a lo largo del siglo XX. El objetivo de la investigación explora la significación del concepto de arquitectura y sus implicaciones en la práctica de los arquitectos, compara y analiza algunas de las más características maneras de entender el papel del arquitecto en la sociedad del siglo XX y comienzos del XXI. Como método se estableció la revisión documental y la codificación de las manifestaciones de los arquitectos y críticos, registradas a través de documentos escritos sobre la arquitectura. Como resultados se tienen una serie de “posturas del arquitecto,” como la forma en que éste se dispone ante el proyecto; la manera en que él mismo entiende su papel, lo que hace y lo que piensa al respecto de la situación problemática que intenta resolver. Como conclusión, se identifica una oscilación del papel del arquitecto en la sociedad, donde la importancia del arquitecto va pasando de no tener una función específica en unos momentos, hasta presentarse como un superhombre en otros.

The way in which the architect understands his paper in the society has evolved along the history. This paper examines different positions of the architect to the project of architecture along the 20th century. The aim of the research explores the meaning of the concept of architecture and his implications in the practice of the architects, compares and analyzes some of the most characteristic ways of understanding the paper of the architect in the society of the 20th century and beginning of the 21th. The method established was the documentary review and the codification of the information of the expressed for the architects and critics that was registered across documents written on the architecture. As a results have a series of “positions of the architect," as the form in which this one arranges to the project. The way in which he itself understands his paper, which he itself does and which he thinks to the problematic situation that it tries to resolve. As conclusion we can identify an oscillation of the paper of the architect in the society, in which the importance of the architect is changing to not having a specific function in some times, up to being a superhero in other times.
