Es una investigación de campo de tipo descriptiva analítica, con enfoque cuantitativo. Como objetivos específicos se consideran las metas descritas por la CEPAL para el cumplimiento del objetivo 4, que están en concordancia con el sector Universitario; para ello se aplicó un instrumento de 14 ítems tipo encuesta a tres Instituciones de Educación Superior con actividades presenciales y de mayor impacto en el Departamento de Sucre. A partir de los resultados del estudio, se caracterizó la gestión de las instituciones de Educación Superior, identificando las políticas de acceso igualitario de las IES, también se caracterizó las estrategias pedagógicas aplicadas por las IES para el desarrollo de competencias técnicas, y finalmente, se determinó las competencias ciudadanas asociadas a la sostenibilidad desarrolladas por las instituciones de Educación Superior de la Ciudad de Sincelejo.The intermediate organizations of society are called to contribute from their management to the fulfillment of the SDGs as purposes of maximum social scope, hence the interest of this research whose objective is to analyze the participation of university management in the sustainable development of the City of Sincelejo, through the fulfillment of SDG number four associated with quality education. The specific objectives are the goals described by ECLAC for the fulfillment of objective 4, which are in accordance with the University sector; For this, a 14-item survey-type instrument was applied to three Higher Education Institutions with face-to-face activities and of greater impact in the Department of Sucre.
