Con el fin de contribuir a los procesos de mejoramiento continuo, se desarrolló la investigación, con el objetivo de contextualizar el panorama institucional del Programa de Derecho de la Corporación Universitaria del Caribe - CECAR, iniciando con la caracterización del estado actual del Programa, y la relación del mismo con la visión de CECAR. En segunda instancia, conceptualizando el factor identitario del Programa de Derecho de la Institución y su Justificación, determinando la capacidad instalada en lo que respecta al talento humano, requerimiento de formación de alto nivel y de cerramiento de brechas; estableciendo las apuestas nacionales y locales en materia de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación en el mencionado Programa e identificando la relación de este con el Plan Prospectivo y el Plan de Desarrollo de la Institución. Y, finalmente, se definió la relación del Programa de Derecho con los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible. Atendiendo a la naturaleza de la investigación, se utilizó un enfoque cualitativo. El resultado del proceso que presentamos ha tenido como referentes las categorías de Docencia y Currículo, Internacionalización, Proyección Social e Investigación.The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the Corporación Universitaria del Caribe - CECAR completed 20 years of forming lawyers, by virtue of their missionary commitment to contribute with qualified professionals to transform society. Lawyers with the ability to reason, interpret and argue legally; aware of the ethical dimension and social responsibility of the legal profession. In order to contribute to the processes of continuous improvement, the research was developed with the objective of contextualizing the institutional outlook of the Program of Law of the Corporación Universitaria del Caribe - CECAR, beginning with the characterization of the current status of the Program, and the relationship of the same with the vision of CECAR. In the second instance, conceptualizing the identity factor of the Program of Law of the Institution and its Justification, determining the installed capacity in regard to human talent, requirement of high level training and closure of gaps; establishing national and local bets on Science, Technology and Innovation in the said Program and identifying its relationship with the Prospective Plan and the Development Plan of the Institution. And, finally, the relationship of the Program of Law with the objectives of sustainable development was defined. Considering the nature of the research, a qualitative approach was used.
