En esta investigación se presenta un análisis sobre la importancia de crear rutas turísticas culturales en el municipio de Santiago de Tolú, la caracterización de éste y los activos culturales más representativos. Esto con el ánimo de diseñar rutas turísticas de interpretación cultural alrededor del patrimonio material e inmaterial con la finalidad de fortalecer la oferta turística existente a través del turismo cultural. La metodología utilizada en este proyecto es la propuesta por el Ministerio de Comercio, Industria y Turismo -MINCIT-, para la valoración de los recursos turísticos; por lo cual, se partió del inventario de atractivos y servicios turísticos del departamento de Sucre realizado en el 2009 por Viceministerio de Turismo de la república de Colombia, adicionalmente para el diseño de rutas turísticas se combinaron las metodologías propuestas por el MINCIT y ONDAS. Se incorpora en estos recorridos la riqueza natural y cultural de este puerto turístico, exaltando la tradición oral para poner en valor la cultura toludeña, y vivir experiencias únicas que solo en el municipio de Santiago de Tolú se pueden vivir: con su historia, gastronomía, arquitectura republicana, entre otros elementos patrimoniales.The development of new tourist destinations and their inclusion in a market, necessarily motivates to think of new imaginative and innovative tourist products with differentiation capacity where the visitor can live unique experiences. This research presents an analysis on the importance of creating cultural tourist routes in the municipality of Santiago de Tolú, the characterization of this and the most representative cultural assets. This with the aim of designing tourist routes of cultural interpretation around the tangible and intangible heritage in order to strengthen the existing tourist offer through cultural tourism. The methodology used in this project is the one proposed by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism -MINCIT-, for the valuation of tourist resources; therefore, the inventory of tourist attractions and services of the department of Sucre conducted in 2009 by the Vice Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Colombia was taken, in addition to the design of tourist routes, the methodologies proposed by MINCIT and ONDAS were combined.
