Creating sustainable environmental actions through English workshops to analyze the influence on listening skills in sixth-grade students at Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá School in Roldanillo, Valle

Abstract

El objetivo de este proyecto es generar acciones sostenibles en los estudiantes de grado sexto de la Institución Educativa Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá, a través de talleres pedagógicos que fortalezcan sus competencias lingüísticas de escucha en inglés. Para lograrlo, las actividades se diseñan de manera dinámica, buscando una participación de los estudiantes. Además, tanto la prueba diagnóstica como la planeación de los talleres están alineadas con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible, promoviendo acciones prácticas que comprometan a cada estudiante en la construcción de un entorno más sostenible. Las metodologías cualitativas y cuantitativas permiten el estudio y análisis de las interacciones humanas en relación con el contexto ambiental. Este enfoque se basa en la investigación-acción, ya que busca promover el cuidado del medio ambiente a través de la enseñanza del inglés, contribuyendo así al fortalecimiento del entorno natural de los estudiantes.

The objective of this project is to generate sustainable actions in the sixth-grade students of the Educational Institution Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá, through pedagogical workshops that strengthen their linguistic skills in listening to English. To achieve this, the activities are designed in a dynamic way, looking for the active participation of the students. In addition, both the diagnostic test and the planning of the workshops are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting practical actions that engage each student in building a more sustainable environment. The qualitative and quantitative methodologies employed allow the study and analysis of human interactions in relation to the environmental context. This approach is based on action research, as it looks to promote care for the environment through the teaching of English, thus contributing to the strengthening of the students' natural environment.
