In recent years, La Caimanera coastal lagoon has been affected by different factors such as illegal
human settlements, mangrove felling, hunting of protected species as well as the lack of control
for the surrounding inhabitants who live off the tourist influence and the carelessness of the mouth
of the cienaga. Due to these needs, this investigation is proposed in the mangrove complex, to
generate a conscious tourism that reactivates the economy, improves the quality of life of the
inhabitants of the cienaga and helps the survival of the fauna and flora. Following this order of
ideas, the work has a mixed approach since the social, environmental, cultural, historical and
economic components (hard and soft data) of the swamp and Coveñas are analyzed from the
macro, mezo and micro scales, seeking to understand the general problems and carry out an
architectural and landscape design according to these situations. The foregoing is achieved through
a strategic direction guided by a reference study where an entire architectural design is broken
down to achieve understanding and obtaining solid guidelines bases to be applied. Likewise, the
proposal seeks a symbiosis between the ecosystem and the design, generating a positive
environmental, economic and social impact due to the fact that a whole structure of autochthonous
spatial experiences is formulated, which seek to show the world a privileged ecosystem in habitat
and space, as well as a design with pedestrian routes, native buildings, shelters, places to stay,
hydration places, and diversity of experiences that allow to know, understand and live the site in a
more friendly way with the ecosystem.
