Este estudio describe las funciones discursivas del lenguaje obsceno en el Caribe colombiano. Lo anterior fundamentado en distintos postulados teóricos sobre las obscenidades y en la perspectiva semiolingüística de análisis del discurso. Se conformó un corpus de veinte textos que cumplían dos criterios: ser producidos por hablantes del Caribe colombiano y uso de obscenidades. El análisis se hizo cualitativamente, estableciendo la puesta en escena y las funciones del lenguaje obsceno en su contexto de aparición. Los resultados mostraron que la puesta en escena de lo obsceno no depende del tipo de interacción y que este lenguaje cumple distintas funciones discursivas.

This study describes the discursive functions of obscene language in the Colombian Caribbean. The above is based on differ-ent theoretical postulates about obscenities and the semi-linguistic perspective of discourse analysis. A corpus of twenty texts was formed that met two criteria: being produced by speakers from the Colombian Caribbean and use of obscenities. The analysis was done qualitatively, establishing the staging and functions of obscene language in its con-text of appearance. The results showed that the staging of the obscene does not depend on the type of interaction and that this language ful-fills different discursive functions.
