dc.description.abstractDe acuerdo a Carter (2012) la industria minera es un sistema extremadamente complejo y dinámico, que está inmerso en un mercado que se distingue por un gran número de partes interesadas con objetivos disímiles, evolucionando de forma poco sinérgica, en medio de los ciclos de auge e inestabilidad. Pimentel et al., (2016) afirman que muchas empresas mineras pueden necesitar un cambio estructural para su viabilidad, a través de la reducción de costos, enfoque en la productividad y los rendimientos de valor para los accionistas, disciplina en la asignación de capital, y la adopción de nuevas formas de innovación, incluidos nuevos enfoques para tratar con las comunidades locales, los gobiernos y los organismos reguladores.
