El suicidio en adolescentes es un problema de salud pública dada su elevada incidencia y el gran impacto que este genera no solo a nivel individual, sino familiar y social. Existen algunos factores que han sido asociados con el desarrollo de conductas suicidas en los adolescentes, sin embargo, su descripción se ha realizado de manera aislada, desconociendo la multicausalidad del problema, Según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), aproximadamente 700.000 personas mueren por suicidio cada año, y es la segunda causa de muerte en personas de 15 a 29 años (OMS, 2014, 2021). El objetivo principal de esta investigación es lograr identificar las percepciones en los estudiantes de undécimo grado de la Institución Educativa San Vicente en el Municipio de Sincelejo del Departamento de Sucre. Metodológicamente, es un estudio con enfoque cualitativo con diseño de tipo fenomenológico, alcance descriptivo. La población objeto de estudio serán jóvenes estudiantes del grado de undécimo de la Institución Educativa San Vicente como muestra participarán 10 adolescentes estudiantes del curso. Así mismo, para el análisis de datos primero se aplicará una entrevista semiestructurada y seguidamente se realizará el proceso de análisis y categorización de la información obtenida.

Suicide in adolescents is a public health problem given its high incidence and the great impact it generates not only at the individual level, but also at the family and social level. There are some factors that have been associated with the development of suicidal behaviors in adolescents, however, their description has been carried out in isolation, ignoring the multicausality of the problem. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 700,000 people die from suicide each year, and it is the second cause of death in people aged 15 to 29 years (WHO, 2014, 2021). The main objective of this research is to identify the perceptions of eleventh-grade students at the San Vicente Educational Institution in the Municipality of Sincelejo, Department of Sucre. Methodologically, it is a study with a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, descriptive scope. The population under study will be young students of the eleventh grade of the San Vicente Educational Institution, as a sample, 10 adolescent students of the course will participate. Likewise, for data analysis, a semi-structured interview will first be applied and then the process of analysis and categorization of the information obtained will be carried out.
