The high specialization in top level sports these days, has developed in the last decades in an increasing of the time the athletes dedicate to their workouts and competitions. Keeping in mind that retirement from sport happens at a very young age, this makes this period a crisis stage that implies many requirements and adjustments at different levels (working, financial, social and psychological stages). That is the main reason behind of preparing the athletes not only to optimize performance, but to lead, help and teach them at every level possible to face successfully the complicated process of an early retirement. It can be affirmed that research in the retirement and transition of sport area in the last five decades, has advanced the understanding of this phenomenon, shifting attention from consideration of career as a special case within transitions (Stambulova, 1994) for discussion of the nature of the facts, processes, overcoming and interventions (Lavallee, Nestu, Borkoles, Cockerill & Edge, 2000).
